This small adapter plugs into a DisplayPort output on your computer and gives you an HDMI socket to plug an HDMI cable into. The signal flows one way only, from the DisplayPort side out to the HDMI display. It is the cheapest way to get a 1080p HDMI monitor, TV or projector working with a computer that only offers DisplayPort.

FAQ
Does this work in both directions? No. It converts from DisplayPort out to the other format only. It will not take an HDMI, DVI or VGA source and feed a DisplayPort monitor. For that you need a converter built for the opposite direction.
Is an HDMI cable included? No. The output on this adapter is an HDMI socket, not a plug, so you supply your own HDMI cable to run from the adapter to the display. Most people already have one, or can use the cable that came with the TV or monitor.
Can it do 4K? No. This adapter tops out at 1920x1080 at 60Hz. For 4K, look at our DisplayPort to HDMI 4K adapter for 4K at 30Hz, or the active DisplayPort to HDMI adapter for 4K at 60Hz.
