A blue 18 AWG jumper with an IEC 60320 C14 plug at one end and a C13 connector at the other, rated 10A at 250V. This is the cord that goes between a rack PDU or UPS outlet and a piece of equipment — the same shape as the cord your server shipped with, minus the wall plug. The blue jacket is there for identification: colour-coding A and B feeds, or one customer's kit, saves real time when you are tracing cords behind a full cabinet.

What it's for

Which end goes where?
The C14 end is the male plug — it goes into the PDU, UPS or extension outlet. The C13 end is the female connector and goes onto the equipment inlet. Because it is C14-to-C13, it can also sit in-line between an existing cord and its device.

Is this a "jumper" cord?
Yes — C14-to-C13 cords are usually called jumper or PDU cords, because they jump from a rack outlet to a device rather than reaching a wall socket.

Can I daisy-chain two of them?
Physically yes, and it is common practice to extend a run. Electrically, keep the total length sensible and stay well inside the 10A rating; every extra connector pair is another place for a loose contact.

What does 18 AWG mean here?
AWG is conductor thickness, and the scale runs backwards — a lower number is a thicker wire. At 18 AWG this cord is built to carry its rated 10A at 250V without the conductors heating up. A thinner cord with a higher AWG number carries less current.

What is a SJT jacket?
SJT is a thermoplastic-jacketed, hard-service cord — the heavier, more abrasion-resistant jacket used on equipment and rack cords.

How much load can I actually put on it?
The cord is rated 10A at 250V. The usual engineering practice is to keep a continuous load at or below 80% of a circuit or cord rating and leave headroom for inrush when equipment powers on, so size the cord to the equipment rather than to the outlet.
