FAQ

What is the latch for? DisplayPort connectors have a small spring catch that locks into the socket so the cable cannot fall out on its own. Press the release button on the connector before pulling it, or you risk damaging the port.

Is DisplayPort 1.2 enough, or should I get 1.4? DisplayPort 1.2 is enough for the large majority of monitors in use. It handles 4K at 60Hz and 1440p at high refresh rates, which covers normal desktop work and most gaming displays. Step up to our DisplayPort 1.4 cable if you are running 8K, or 4K at 120Hz, since those need the higher HBR3 bandwidth that 1.2 does not provide.

Will it work with a DisplayPort 1.4 graphics card or monitor? Yes. DisplayPort is backward and forward compatible, so the connection will work. The picture will be limited to what DisplayPort 1.2 can carry, which is up to 4K at 60Hz.
