Good to know

Is slim Cat6A really 10G?
Over a short patch run, yes — the cable is built and verified to Cat6A performance to ANSI/TIA-568.2-D. What changes with 28 AWG is not the bandwidth but the resistance, so the permitted patch length is shorter than with 24 AWG.

Cat6 or Cat6A for a new install?
Cat6A is the one to pull if you want 10G at full distance, and it is also the calmer choice for dense PoE because of its thicker conductors and better heat behaviour. Our comparison guide walks through when the extra cost pays for itself.

Why unshielded?
UTP is simpler to terminate, needs no bonded path to ground, and is the right default in ordinary offices and homes. Shielded cable earns its place near heavy electrical noise — motors, lift shafts, industrial plant — and only if the shield is properly bonded end to end.

Can I run this in a wall?
This reel is stranded and CM-rated, which makes it a patch-cord product for open runs. In-wall horizontal runs want solid conductors and the fire rating your local code calls for — CMR in a riser, CMP in a plenum.
